eople have assumed I am a diva, but I loathe the word now’: Kareena Kapoor Khan – Kareena Kapoor Khan, during an interaction, spoke at length about headlining films long ago.
In 2020, Kareena Kapoor Khan will be completing two decades in the film industry. She is one of the few actors who has movie releases every year, except for 2017, where she was looking after her newborn baby Taimur Ali Khan, shedding extra kilos which she gained during pregnancy and also was shooting for Veere Di Wedding. Bebo is indeed unstoppable as she has touted as someone who broke stereotypes of delivering hits after tying the knot and also after entering the phase of motherhood.
When asked about it while talking to Mid Day, Kareena stated, “That’s because I am a filmy child who knows what entertainment is. People have assumed I am a diva, but I loathe the word now. My PR [game] is not strong; there’s a zero strategy behind who I am. I have never bothered about projecting myself as a serious actor. I am happy when my fans are happy and my film is a success. Then, I whisk off on a holiday.”
Talking about headlining films before it became a trend now, the Chameli actor went on to say, “I started the trend of headlining films long ago. People are talking about it now because there is more focus on women’s voice in Bollywood. Many actresses would have turned down Veere Di Wedding because no one wants to talk about periods, or lack of orgasm [being grounds for] divorce. The film was path-breaking because we established that there’s an alternative to bro-code.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kareena is gearing up for the release of Good Newwz.
